We're recognised by British Canoeing and the Royal Yachting Association for the quality of our watersport tuition. Our experienced and qualified instructors really enjoy passing on their expertise to new and improving sailors and paddlers. We make our courses as accessible and fun as we possibly can, whilst covering all the techniques and tactics for you to excel in your chosen sport. We also provide all the equipment you'll need, so you won't have to go shopping first, and a car parking permit for the duration of your course.

Introduction to Dinghy Sailing - Evening
This progressive evening course will introduce you to the wonderful world of dinghy sailing. Working towards the RYA Level 1 certificate, you'll learn the basics of sailing small dinghies with confidence. On completion, you will be qualified to take out one of our single-handed dinghies on your own. Ages 16+
Vital Skills for Independent Paddlers
This course covers the vital personal skills and essential knowledge for any independent paddler looking to buy their own boat or improve their existing understanding.
This one-day course, held on a Saturday, is suitable for those with previous dinghy sailing experience (however rusty!) wishing to refresh their skills. By the end of the day the aim is that you will remember the difference between your tacks and gybes and feel confident enough to sail independently on the lake.
Improvers Sailing - Evening
This 6 week progressive evening course will help you build on your sailing knowledge, skills and confidence whilst following the Royal Yachting Association Level 2 syllabus. On completion, you will be able to hire our double-handed dinghies. 16+
Supervised Sailing - Improvers
This series of drop in sessions are designed for those who have attended an RYA Level 1 and / or 2 course and wish to sail under supervision before going it alone. These sessions are also designed for those who haven't quite completed the syllabus and need some additional coaching to complete their previous course. The sessions will be flexible from a coaching point of view and tailored around you as a group. We might decide to practice man over board techniques, enhance our 5 Essentials, run an informal race or even put the spinnakers up.

Improvers Dinghy Sailing - Weekend
Expand your sailing knowledge, skills and confidence on an Improvers Dinghy Sailing course. Following the RYA National Sailing Scheme Level 2 syllabus, you’ll learn more efficient sailing and a range of manoeuvres as well as useful theory and background knowledge. On gaining this certificate you will be able to hire out double handed sailing boats at Dinton and other RYA Training centres around the world. RYA Level 1 or equivalent experience required. Ages 16+
Courses run either over a weekend or on consecutive Saturdays.
Introduction to Paddlesport
Glide into the world of kayaking and canoeing on the Introduction to Paddlesport course. You will learn the foundation skills of boat control in a variety of craft and gain useful background knowledge. The course is run over two days. After completion of this course you should receive the British Canoeing 1 Star award and then you can progress on to the British Canoeing 2 Star award (Improvers Paddlesport). Ages 16+
This two day course follows the British Canoeing 2 Star syllabus and will help develop your existing skills to turn you in to a confident and competent paddler. By the end of the course you should be able to paddle independently on flat and sheltered water. Boats are available to hire from the Activity Centre for you to keep your skills up, or you could join a local club. Ages 16+
Following the RYA Powerboat Level 2 syllabus, this two-day course will give you the skills to drive and manoeuvre a powerboat competently and safely. On completion you will be awarded with a Powerboat Level 2 certificate, which is the driving licence of powerboating. No previous experience is required. Suitable for age 12+
Learn the basics of land-based lifesaving skills and keep up to date with new techniques and procedures. Ages 14+
